Hello, I'm new to bruning dvds. I have a dvd which does not have any type of copyright on it and I'm supposed to be burning copies from my iMac. Its got a dvd writer on it. I can get all the necessary files off the dvd and burn from just clicking File > Burn DVD but...when you stick it in to play, it opens up DVDplayer as normal but the dvd doesn't start. It can be played if you go to File > Open but this needs to be able to be played on normal DVD players hooked up to television.

How can i burn the DVD-r disc to play as if it was a normal off the shelf DVD???

What am I doing wrong???

What software do I need to be using, if at all, instead of the in built existing iMac software???

what program are you using now?

I believe it should work if you use Disk Copy to make a device image of the original and then burn that image to a blank DVD. if that doesn't work, then doing the same in Toast definitely will
