iMovie Quality Problem

Has anyone tried importing pictures into iMovie successfully without the picture having 1000% worse quality?

If so, how did you do it?

Same thing with Final Cut Pro...the picture looks fine in the viewer, but in the canvas the quality is god awful.

iMovie reduces all images to 640x480, which might explain your complaint. I don't know if the same is true of FCP.
