I want to use QT Pro for just some simple slicing up of AAC audio files. However, just dragging the in and out arrows is too imprecise, especially on a longer audio file where each pixel's movement represents 3 or 4 seconds. Is there any way in QT Pro to set the In or Out points to the cursor, like the "I" or "O" key commands in FCP?

¬ thinking takes a lot you see more than many ask of me

sorry, no- that's why it's $30 and not more.

you can use the left and right arrow keys (or the scroll bar) to move the playhead frame by frame (which is really more useful for video editing), and command-b will zero the selection on the playhead (I think this is what you're looking for). Then you have to futz around with copy/paste/clear, but the result is pretty reasonable

frankly, I'm surprised it's not more than $30 by now

Another handy feature is to open MovieProperties/Movie/Time and you then are shown both the time position and the length of any selection. Holding down the shift key while moving the slider or the arrow keys increases/decreases the selection time.
