I want a digital camcorder but do not have the money to buy a new one. The following are available on eBay, but as I have never even used such a device before, I would appreciate advice as to which I should buy.

- Pansonic NV-DS55, for ~£200
- Samsung VP-D87di, for ~£125
- Samsung VP-D77i, for ~£125
- Sharp VL-PD3E, for ~£110
- JVC GR-DVXE, for ~£100

£200 is my limit, I;d rather not more than £150. All I want it for is making ideas in my head become moving pictures. FireWire and Mac compatability are givens.

1. the word "camcorder" is dead, which is important to know when looking for good reviews online for DV "digital video cameras"

check out large sites like cnet.com that have a vast database of reviews of everything electronic, and remember those eBay prices are going to jump A LOT the last few minutes of the auction. I would recommend a sony or canon over the brands you listed.

i wish the $200 sony hi-8 worked w/ imovie, its bad when only really exspensive ones are supported
