I experienced an unusual problem the other day and figured out a workaround. I'm just posting this in case anyone else experiences it and needs help.
FP iMac, iMovie 2.02, QT 6.3, iDVD2
Here's what happened: finished iMovie project, with music soundtrack. Locked audio tracks to the video. Exported to DVD (which is really an uncompressed QT .mov file). Played QT file - music soundtrack skipped badly and was way out of sync, not just by a frame, but by 5-10 seconds in an 8-minute video (original video sound was fine). Tried again - same problem. Scratched my head.
The workaround: exported the iMovie project to DV tape. Imported it back to iMovie as a new project. This embedded the music soundtrack into the video. Exported to DVD/QT again, came out perfect. Burned DVDs, no problem.
Hope this helps someone. I've never had this happen before - I suspect a quirk in QT 6.3 because it's the only new item on my machine. Anybody have any ideas as to why the music track would go severely out of sync on export to QT?
