I've recently been downloading episodes of tv series I like and want to burn them as vcds. However, some of them (perhaps 1/2) won't burn in toast--it gives me an error message when I drag the files on to the Video CD part.

I have been re-encoding them with ffmpegx. It works but also takes forever. Is there any way I can just repair or alter them to make them burn? If it more info about the clips is needed, I'll post whatever is necessary.

try using vcd gear. Select MPG->MPG conversion, but click the generate toast compatible VCD image button.

Toast may not accept the MPEG files, but it will accept a BIN file made with vcdtoolsX. Use the vcdimager portion to create a .bin file, and then drop the .bin file on Toast.

Essentially, you're packaging the MPEG files into an image file.

I was actually just about to try this (I have the .bin created but have yet to burn it). If toast bitched about the mpeg, will some dvd players as well? That's just what I'm afraid of

Also, with trying to fix it using vcdgear... it would create junk mpegs. no vid, just audio. Kinda weird...
