Does anyone know of a low- to mid-range digital camcorder (up to $600) that could also be used as a webcam with a Mac? (I have discovered that the Sony & Canon camcorders that offer video streaming are not Mac compatible.)

well if you don't mind being limited to other iChat users, nearly every Firewire-equipped camcorder can be used as a webcam in iChat AV. As far as other programs, i don't know. And for specific camera recommendations, i haven't used any extensively but i've heard good things about the Canon ZR series, if you don't ming somewhat poor low-light situations (i.e. always make sure you either shoot outside during the day or inside with plenty of extra light)

I'm pretty sure any Camera that offers USB streaming is not compatible with a Mac. Both my still camera and my DV cam support this, but neither work with my mac
