My mother and her sisters made a cassette for my daughter with some songs on it, and unfortunately, they were no sound engineers among them. The recording level was very low because they were nowhere near the crappy little mic, and there's lots of hiss since I had to normalize the hell out of it.

I have it sucked down to my hard drive, but I'm hoping for something to post-process it and suppress the bad tape hiss. I've heard that CD Spin Doctor does this, but I've never used it. (I have Toast 5Ti, but I can't find that app, nor can I find a downloadable update from Roxio.)

Are there any other alternatives? I'd be looking for a free one, or somewhere I can get the OSX version of Spin Doctor that goes with my Toast Ti.

Do you have the Lite version of Toast 5 (included with many external burners) or the retail version? I don't believe the Lite version comes with any of the companion apps.

If you have the retail version, have you looked in the Roxio Music folder inside the Toast 5 application folder? That's where CD Spin Doctor was installed on my system.

I do have the full version. I looked in the Music folder, but there was nothing there. Hmmm. I bought the original 5 Ti that was only OS 9 - maybe it wasn't included in the 5.2 (5.1?) upgrade that made is a native app? Or maybe it was an install option that I bypassed figuring I'd never need it.
