a freeware for dvd decryption and compression?

is there such an app for the mac?

i know for pcs there dvdshrink and several others

is there a freeware like dvdshrink for the mac?

I've been using OSEx for ripping and D-Vision 2 to convert to an avi.

Works well. D-V2 requires a bit of thinking, and you'll need to remember (1) the length of the DVD and (2) the aspect ratio (which can be gotten via amazon if you don't have the source DVD lying around any more).
Since EBCDIC
