So why don't more camera's have a built-in GPS to record the location of the image???
I'm finally in the market to buy a digital camera and one of the features that I've been hoping would work its way into these cameras is the ability to do a location stamp of where the photo was taken. I've done some looking and it turns out that EXIF has a tag already built-in to do this.
The only camera I've found that does this is the Ricoh i700G, available only in Japan. You can check it out here:

The benefits of such a feature are enormous! Imagine if you could search the internet for all photos taken within 200 feet of a lake you're interested in visiting? Or how about all photos taken on a particular street in some city? You could then watch how things have changed in that particular location over the years. This would be an awesome tool for research.
Those kind of benefits are long term, but in the immediate future I'd be able to piece together the photos of one of my 10 day backpacking trips -- and even place them directly on the map where I took the pictures. No more guessing, what lake was that?
Anyway, if any one has heard of other cameras with this feature built-in, I'd be really interested in hearing about it.
