hi there, im looking at buying my first soundcard and was intending to get the allround good report, audiophile 2496.. but ive found a good deal on the Delta-66 and liked the sound of less latency cable noise. (just from everything ive read in reviews)

but my concern is that the delta-66 has no MIDI inputs. I think I would need one for a mixer. does anyone know of any reasonable priced adapters that can be used with the delta or other solutions. im not looking for a diverse pro adapter that is the same price as the card all over again, just something that simply allows a MIDI plugin.

and any advice on if the delta-66 is really worth it over the audiophile 2496 or not??

thanks for any help.

the delta 66 is a good card, but if you're not going to use it for serious recording and such, it may be overkill. for some USB MIDI interfaces, check out the m-audio site. i've using a Midiman USB Midisport 2x2, works great. i think i got it for $60 or so.

I've been using the delta 66 for about three years. Love the low latency, about 8ms in reason with asio drivers, also the virtual mixer makes a lot of sense, the breakout box, need I go on?
Also, I own a midisport 4x4 by midiman (M-audio)....depends how seriosu u are about the midi stuff, 4x4 gives ne plenty of options to route a growing studio. Hope this helps.
