i've been editing a wedding video in iMovie. nothing too complicated, just a few transitions, fades, etc.

i've added in a couple of songs to play over some of the footage, and at these points i've set the volume level of the original camera audio track to zero, so all i can hear is the music. i've also done a few fades at appropriate places.

the audio sounds as it should when i play back my video within iMovie.. but if i export the movie to MPEG-2 and AIFF (in order to use DVDSP) all the volume edits i've made have gone.

am i completely missing something here, or is it a bug?

Bug.

I've had various audio problems in iMovie. Did you do the fades in the special audio window (by double-clicking on the tracks) or in the main iMovie window? I've sometimes found that if you do the fades in the audio windows, they work better, and they're more precise as well. But your mileage may vary. Good luck.
