I know you can add a film-like filter in Adobe After Effects...but what about Final Cut Pro? If you can, how do you do it?

It all depends how much you want to spend and the quality you are looking for.

Check out the bottom of this page http://www.kenstone.net . There are some links to free plugins.

The general consensus is that Magic Bullet is the best quality there is but it is not cheap. $1000 retail and around $500 acedemic version. Hope this helps.

dang...I downloaded the "film grain process" plug-in from the first link you gave me...but I have no idea how to use it. I opened it and in FCP a box pops up that says "File Error: Unknown Error"

any ideas on how to get that to work?

There is also free solutions that are less effective than expensive filters like «Cinelook» and «MagicBullet», but they sometime do the job.

Check this :

You can use these techniques and add a grain filter.

I hope this can help.
