I have an imac. the phono output goes into input in my home stereo amplifier.
There has always been a scratchy kind of interference. It is not that bad but , I am about to do sequencing and am hoping to make my own music so it would be good if it wasnt there. I am wondering what it is and how to get rid of it as its there when I pause music and there when its playing. I have just reakised that it changed when my computer is processing , the sound changes.

i'd say get some good shielded cables. whatever you are using is picking up RFI/EMI junk from the computer.
