I have a question that I hope somebody can answer.

I have 20 G4 powermacs in a videoediting class. And I wonder if I install a gigabit switch and a dedicated storage server running gigabit network trueout the class. Is the networkbandwith enough to drive 10-15 workstations working simultanius videoediting to this server?

We have Adobe Premiere as videoediting software.

Any inputs or links are apreciated!

I haven't tried it myself, but have read many reports of that kind of setup not working well (ie, plenty of dropped frames, sluggish performance). Even if the math looks right when you calculate a Gigabit pipeline working with DV video, the reality is quite different.

The only network editing that works, as far as I know, is when you're using Fiber Channel as a pipeline for getting data from client to server.
