I know this is possible, but I can't find the option.

in iMovie if you capture an entire video tape, it auto cuts the clips at pauses.

Where's the option in Final Cut Express to do this?

Thanks

There's no such option in FCE as far as I know. However, after you capture footage, you can instruct FCE to mark all of the pause breaks. Select the clip(s) you want to mark in the browser or viewer, then go to the Mark menu, then select DV Start/Stop Detection. You'll see marks applied to all of the breaks within the clip(s) you selected. You can then treat them as sub-clips (double-click on a marker) or as separate clips (place the playhead between markers of the section you want and select Mark > Mark To Marker).
