Any advice on choosing iMovie vs. iPhoto for making slide shows? Here's what I've found.

iPhoto - Easy to use and perfect image quality but limited control over transitions, titles, and most annoying, if a soundtrack is shorter than the show, it just repeats the tune over and over.

iMovie - Solves all the control problems but the image quality of imported photos is reduced to lower video resolution.

So,

Question1: How do you better control the soundtrack on iPhoto?
Question 2: How do you improve still image quality on iMovie?

I've only used iMovie but I don't believe there's a workaround in either case.

The slide shows I've made with iMovie look reasonably good when burned onto DVD and played on TV.

Q1:
only workaround i do know is, to produve your slideshow WITHOUT sound, look, how long it is, and pre-produce a fitting soundtrack in a sound-app you prefer (qt, spark etc). finally import this "long" soundtrack into iPhoto...

Q2:
the preview in iMovie has allways a bad quality. you have to watch the final product on DVD, tape, or export the final result as .dv stream/high quality...

What about Toast 6 Titanium? It is pretty good the Slideshow program it has. Although haven't seen final version of slideshow on TV, I have to burn it.
