I thought i read one time that you shouldnt put lables on DVD-Rs because it makes them less reliable. Is this true?

dvds spin very fast, any kind of "un-centering" (sorry, poor english, but i think, you understand ) a lable kills your drive! even, perfect centered while glueing it on the disk, you probably have "bubbles" of air under it, so again, your drive says hasta la vista.

ok, looks good, especially as a gift - but i do prefer a black marker...

PS: slot-in drives (PB, Cube) don't like labled dvd/cds either - too thick!

My experience with DVD paper labels has been very bad. The labels look nice but changes in humidity (or temperature?) causes the paper labels to develop bubbles and separate from the disc. Anytime i want to play these DVDs I must now press the labels to smooth them out .This problem may be due to the particular brand of blank DVDs i happened to use (Panasonic) but it was enough to scare me off glued paper labels on DVDs forever.

There may be other solutions out there but I'd avoid paper labels on DVDs.

Solution. Buy an Epson Stylus Photo 900. You can print directly onto white label CD-R and DVD-R discs. You get a professional look, and no stability issues. I have one and love it.

That's a good idea. Just read a review of that.
