I have two questions:
1) I have a Canon ZR45 camcorder I have some video on I want to import into iMovie. I am a Mac newbie and tried hooking it up via the USB cable that comes with the camcorder. iMovie just says No Camera detected. Someone mentioned I need a Firewire cable in order to link it to my PB? The camcorder does have a firewire port but the manual is pretty vague on its exact purpose. I guess they think everyone is a guru who buys a camera. Does this sound right?

2) After I get the movie imported to iMovie I am going to add some effects and import it into Flash for a Flash intro I am doing. I want to play the intro at the site launch party on a big screen tv. I see Monstercables.com has a cable for this, anyone try it yet? What was the quality like?

1) You need a 4 pin to 6 pin firewire cable. USB is probably there for if the camera takes still photos onto a memory card, but USB is not nearly fast enough to transfer DV in real time.

2) You want to play this video through your computer to the TV? Why not just dump it onto taped and play it from the camcorder?

Thanks for the reply. I guess I could dump it back to tape once done, never thought of that.
How did you do the blur effect in the Teaser on your site?
