Okay recently started to do some video editing on my iMac here’s what I got.

800 Mhz iMac Super Drive 512 of RAM
Final Cut 3
Cleaner 6
Sound Studio (I know but that’s the best I could do)
Roland Mixing Board
Wireless clip on mic
Sony Handy Cam

So far on my first project I hooked up the wireless mic to the mixing board and captured the sound to the iMac through a USB adapter using Sound Studio. I used the built in mic from the camera as a reference to sinc with the sound captured by the wireless mic. So far it’s worked.

Is the USB adapter I good idea to capture the sound to the Mac ? Any Alternatives ?

I should capture at 48 khz right ? Any Alternatives ?

Is there a way to capture the higher quality sound from the wireless mic straight through the camera ?

Also I export Final Cut Pro Movies to compress in Cleaner 6 to mpeg 1 is that the best way to do this ?

Any suggestions on how I should set all this up ?

All this has to be shown on a projector through a PA system so I guess I need high quality sound.

Note: I’m new to all stuff related to sound so excuse the wrong terminology

All help is appreciated.

Thanks in Advanced.

hey, if you're looking for a pretty good pro app that's FREE, check out Spark ME. it's a cut down version of Spark, and it's pretty full-featured.

couldn't you just hook the output from the wireless right into the mic input on the camera, overiding the on camera mic? i occasionaly work for a video prod company, and we ususally do this, or we have a little mixer that hooks on the camera, and get the on camera audio in one channel, and the wireless in another.
