Adobe Premiere 6.0 was great for capturing
and manipulating audio. You could open a
project for merely "remixing" audio.
I just discovered that version 6.5 does
not allow this. ALL projects must be
video projects; there are no audio only
projects. AND (despite what the help shows)
there is no audio capture.

Adobe Premiere 6.5 has a reduced feature set
from Premiere 6.0.

they probably want you to buy "Adobe Audition", which they just aquired from Syntrillium. It used to be called Cool Edit Pro, which was and still is one of the greatest sound editing/multitrack recording apps ever (pc only, no mac version).

I sincerely hope they plan to port Adobe Audition to OS X, as there is nothing that compares to this simple yet powerful app.

"Tracktion" is the closest thing available on OS X, still in beta but very promising. Only $80 dollars too.

Don't count on it. Adobe is really burning its bridges with all the companies it used to be close with because everyone is coming up with video editing systems to compete with Premier. Anyone that does media software gets the cold shoulder from adobe these days.
