my firewire drive no longer mounts, but I've got some data on it that i really need to keep. Are there any applications that might be able to retrieve it. I have tried to fix the problem with disk utility and disk warrior, but i've had no luck.

i've managed to mount it, but it is really slow to respond to anything. When i tried to copy the files to another drive i got a -36 error. A problemn with reading or writing the data.

I'm still hopeful that there is a way to save it

Is this an external drive? If so I've heard from people that were able to remove the drive from the case and successfully hook it up on a PC through IDE.
