I want to make compilation CD's from my CD collection. What is the best way to do this while maintaining the original audio quality? Quality is very important for me.

Currently I import CD's into iTunes as AIFF files, create a new play list then burn a CD.

Will this get me what I want?

Does iTunes use the equilizer settings when burning a CD? In other words, should I turn the EQ off while burning?

Thanks.

i think you got it...can't get any better than uncompressed audio.

don't think the equalizer does anything for recording; i think it's just for playback.

no, equilizer settings have no effect while burning a cd.

and:
burn s l o w....

computer cd-drives are very tolerant with wrong pits&holes... an audio cd player gets confused with any errors... so, don't speed up the process.-

At one of the recording studios I've been to, they don't burn higher than 2x. They say that 2x has less chance for errors. You could probably get by with burning a little faster, but not your highest speed.
