What do you think should be in the new ipod.
1. fw800
2. networking like the rio
3. able to use flash cards as well for stroage of _
music
4. built in voice recoarder with better sound
quality
5. animated screen
6. better battery that is more than the rest so
more than 20 hours.
7. maybe some sorta of av out so we can watch movies or pictures like from iphoto with a av out cord or a digital out cord to a tv since every one has a tv not even one has a computer and it would make scence mass market with the tv makes perfect scence.
8 optical out for audio like the iriver.
9. fm world tuner.
10. maybe a faster hd for pro sumers with a larger cache for things like i said in number 7
11 lower the price or have a lower end model and a high end model for prosumers.
any thing else no color screen because would loose battery life and to small any way for that kind of stuff.

Bluetooth for small transfers
Also a color screen may not suck up as much power if they use an OLED screen...check this out.

big problem with oled wont last as long also when drastic colors change remember it looses its color or something like that. Blue tooth how slow is it. We want speed but mabe blue tooth head phones would be nice. OLED is nice but its still few years till price goes down on it as well as other things but with a color screen what would you want all you are doing is scrolling down the thing viewing text thats about it as well as calaners just text its not like there are big fancy games.

My 12 year old is hinting at the iPod for his B-day in mid March.
Should I delay purchase of the iPod in the hope of a colour screen?
I can see power reserve being a problem but perhaps a short term fix could be detachable power packs instead of a sealed pack. This could suffice until the liquid sulphur cells arrive

Definitely wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a color screen. In the present iPod, a color screen wouldn't be especially useful--the eye-candy vs. cost worth ratio isn't in its favor. Probably no reason to rush out and buy one now. It's not like they're going out of production, and I suppose there could be another price drop/update before then. But don't depend on it.
Oh, and Belkin does make an external power pack that holds 4 AA batteries. Costs ~$70 and is a serious size increase, but it does exist.
