Hello I am a musician that has finally taken the leap into home recording. I have a dual 2.0 G5 with 1 gig of ram. I have a M-Audio Delta 66 soundcard with the Omni Studio break out box. I am also using M-Audio BX-8 monitor speakers. I am getting a bleed thru of sorts of the sound of the computer into my monitors. it is a static sound along with a slight blip sound that is at a constant tempo. I have trouble shooted everything I can think of. and have narrowed it down to the computer itself. I have contacted Apple care, and they tell me it is the G5 power supply. That this is " normai" for the G5 cause they are so fast. The kicker is that they will replace it but don't back that it will fix the problem. Can I get some advise,, is there a third party power supply I can look into. I would think with a $3000 computer and roughly a third of there market in the audio industry that this would have been an issue they looked into. Please help! Anyone else having this problem, and have found a solution?? Thanks for your time.

Luke

Yeah, tis a little annoying, I've got some friends who are having the same problem, one of them thought it might be the graphics card.
Not sure about getting a new power supply though, the one in the G5 might be closely tied to the other components for regulation, so you might have to be careful about replacing it.

Let us know how you get on .I'm thinking of moving to a G5 next year for AV work, so be nice to see if this is a problem in that area.
Rockstar Games - better than reality.

I called and talked to Apple, they said that it is most likely the power supply. I took it to Apple and they replaced the power supply. Guess what,,, still have the static and the bleeps. I can live with it I guess. but i figured if i when the right way for a change and got the top of the line computer, a nice professions $500 sound card, and nice $500 powered monitors that I wouldn't have any problems. Well guess again. When I am mixing it sounds great. When I am not playing anything and thinking about my next part or change or effect,, I have C3PO whispering to me. Maybe I am anal, but I hope this isn't something I have to live with. Please someone give me more sugesstions
