I have a bunch of .vob music videos (hold your horses, they're legit) and I would like to convert them to another format ( to save size, splice a few of them together with iMovie/FCP/Premiere). I have Quicktime Pro 6.4 and the MPEG-2 playback component.
I've been able to export the video successfully with QT Pro, but it does not export the audio file with it.
Can anyone offer any suggestions?
Thanks.

you have to demux it, then you can work with the separate audio and video streams.

Did that. I have bbDEMUX and I've tried using OSEx to split to the elementary streams. This gets good video, but I can't convert the audio. I haven't been able to find a program that will do it yet.

Did you try mac3dec to decode the audio? Of course this is only if they are infact ac3. If they're pcm, I'm still looking for a converter for that.

I saw that fix earlier. Have you tried it? I just went back and ripped the ac3s and converted those as I thought mac3dec had a problem with pcm files.
OT: What exactly do you do, Uncle Skeleton? You seem to have all (most) of the answers, and very quickly to boot. I've learned a lot through reading your posts and experimentation. Thanks.

no, I gave up too. it wasn't that important the few times it came up.

nothing special. I'm "bantha" on the 3ivx forum, and I used to be "lucylawless" here but I changed it so I wouldn't get to "addicted." the best way to learn things is to try them (at least online, where nothing can catch on fire...)
