Will it work on a 600mhz G3.
Apple say's it needs a 350mhz G4 to work...

The previous version would launch and run but couldn't do any of the realtime effects on a G3.

Personally I'd say if it runs on a 350MHz G4 then it should be able to run fine on a 600MHz G3, albeit without any of the realtime stuff.

HOWEVER, check here, were someone says it WON'T run at all: apple discussions

it cannot be installed!
will use iMovie then, untill I get a new mac...
