Okay, I have a problem. I have an old Panasonic palmcorder. Im into making videos and such. Except this is not a digital camera. There is A/V out, so is there any way to attach it to my ibook? From what I know, imovie supports firewire(and USB?), so is there a special cable that lets you do this? Thanks.

As far as I know, you need to buy a converter to go from composite to fireiwire or USB (preferably firewire). I've used the dazzle hollywood and have not liked it. For the price of a converter, you can probably buy a cheaper digital camcorder.

A digital camcorder usually has all the ports necessary to convert old analog stuff into DV. Another thing you could explore is buying a TV tuner for your mac and converting it that way (I have no idea if that would actually work, but it's worth looking into beacuse they're pretty inexpensive items).
