Since Final Cut keeps it render and capture scratch folders in a set location, moving a project from my main drive to a firewire drive for transport is a hassle. Is there any setting in FCP4 that will let me keep all a project's files in one place so I can move it around easily?

Not that I know of. (I wish there was, because this is quite annoying for FCP users with multiple Macs.)

The workaround we use is to set the scratch disk (in Preferences>Scratch Disks) to the current project folder every time we switch project. Then all render files etc. are kept with your project files in one folder and all you need to do is copy the entire project folder.

You have to remember to set the scratch disk each time you work on a different project though, or you end up with render files all over the place…
