I have a damaged miniDV cassette that I would really like to salvage, if possible. The tape itself is partially torn from the movable cassette piece trying to close over it.

Does anybody here have any experience with this sort of thing, or can point me to a company or someone who might? I'm willing to spend a considerable sum to salvage what's on here, though if the cost is really unreasonable, then I'll just have to forget about it I guess.

I realize this might not be the most appropriate forum, but I am unaware of a better place to look for this information, and I've always received very helpful advice on these boards.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Do a google search for videotape repair, I must have pulled up a half dozen sites.
