Thanks to all of you who answered my last question about Final Cut and DVCPRO media. I'm afraid, however, I have one more question to ask: I hear that Final Cut Pro is DV native. Would Final Cut import/render DVCPRO media using the same kind of compression it would normally use, or would it convert it to DV?

You heard wrong. Final Cut Express is DV naitive, FCP is format independent. It's scalable from photo jpeg all the way up to telecine. Your hardware and import settings are all that matters. If you do your settings properly you won't have any loss of quality.
