My friend transferred me a Pal divx to my PC. The pc reads it fine and shows the length as 1 hr 2 mins. When I transfer it to my mac and open it in quicktime it shows as 53 mins? When I converted it using Compressor to MPEG 2 it still showed 53 mins. Then I opened up FFMPEGX and hit play to see if the video was there. Apparantly i can go to the 53 min mark by fast forwarding, but then i cant fast forward anymore, but i can watch the remaining time. I want to convert this to MPEG for use in DVD Studio Pro 2. Any suggestions?

BTW, this is a PAL DIVX on a NTSC machine. G4 12" Powerbook 640 meg of RAM

hmmm...
PAL has 25 frames per second
NTSC has 30 fps.

when you speed up 62min of video with 25%... it is 53 min... isn't it?

Probably. I tried using FFMPEGX and it took the right input file, but when i put the file into DVD Studio Pro, it says Parsing asset, and freezes up. When I converted with Compressor, it worked but i had the wrong time and it cut off the end of the video. Any more ideas.

You'll probably have to convert the file in Windows. Check this out.

You'll have to change some things in these guides, but the general principles are the same.
