I am using FCP4 and I keep running in to the same problem. I have an interview track laid down, then I put a still photo on the track above it. I then resize the photo and add a couple keyframes to get the "Ken Burns" effect. But when I play back the sequence the photo is a few inches off to the side, if I add dissolves, for the duraton of the dissolve the image is where it is supposed to be, but as soon as the dissolve is over is jumps back to the side. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? I have done this effect hundreds of times before with prior versions without any problem. Using FCP 4, DP 450 G4, 1.5 ram.

Are these scanned photos? Are you saying it's showing up fine before you render it but once it renders it's moved?

DV uses non-sqaure pixels, while computer monitors use square pixels--this can cause problems if you scan something in Photoshop and then import it to FCP.

I can tell you how to fix it if that's indeed your problem but I'm not sure I'm understanding you right.

Some of the pictures are scanned, but another one is a JPEG I got off the internet. The strange thing is, one of the scanned photos I was having trouble with eventually worked after I restarted FCP. But the web pic has not worked yet. Thanks.

I had a similar problem. Try saving these pics with photoshop, and then import the .psd files into your FCP4 browser. Apple and Adobe got it going with the import of such files into your project. If the problem persists, try placing the picture over the track, that way it wount "walk'.....
