Apparently, I screwed up whe posting my question. So here it is.

I have a friend running a few music softwares on his first genration iMac. So he's running OS 9.2 and he's not ready yet to switch to OS X or buy a new Mac. Anyway, here's the question he asked me. He's using a Yamaha keyboard and a senquencing software. He would like to record the music generated by his keyboard and burn an audio CD. What's the easiest way for him to do that, since he's already running the computer to control his keyboard?

He uses MacOS 9.2 (64Mb RAM) and MicroLogic AV 4.1.2

IIRC, the first gen iMac has an audio input.

so easiest possibility:

He's using MLogic AV to control his MIDI synth.
He just needs to hook that up to his iMac's 1/8" minijack and record the music (as audio) into MicroLogic as he plays it back.

Then bounce to a stereo track out of MicroLogic, and burn that to CD.

You are right, it's not a first gen iMac, it has an audio input. So your solution makes sense. I'll try it when I visit my friend. Thanks.
