OK, Gateway has put out a (dare i say it) killer HTPC for $1799:

Gateway 901x

I know theres the HTMUG forum, but it seems to be about modding a Mac until it kinda fits your HTPC desires.

I want my Mac HTPC now. With Mac OS integration and Rendezvous sharing, and the best industrial design in the electronic industry, I think every one of us will buy one of these.

I love my TiVo, but I don't want to spend $100 to make it hear my iTunes and see my iPhoto when i could put that money toward the HTPC of my dreams.

We need a Mac HTPC, and we need 5.1 audio. If I can't get one this year, I will buy this Gateway thing, and that means giving the status of Digital Hub to a Wintel machine. That ain't right! Do you agree?

OK, I'm done.
