Screen capture a DVD for use as a desktop?

I want to get some high quality screen captures from a DVD. Can anyone recommend a good way to do this? The Apple DVD app won't allow me to grab a screenshot while it is running.

Anyone have any ideas?

DVDCapture works perfectly for me...

play the DVD with VLC (free, versiontracker) instead of the apple player.

then you can use the usual apple-3 screnn capture key combo....
