How does black project ? Is it a complete absence of light ? For example if I project a QuickTime movie in full screen the black above and below the screen projects as no light at all. I want to just project the top half of my computer screen and was hoping to achieve this by putting a black desktop picture, hiding the dock and then putting the window I want to project on the top half of the screen.

Thanks - Michael

PS - I realise the answer is `try it and see' but I won't be near a projector for a few days.

It completely depends on how bright your projector is in what lighting situation. Black is not a complete absense of light. If it is a low lighting situation and a brighter projector, you will see some dark gray where the black is, that is normal. If it really bothers you, the brightness can be brought down a little bit which should get rid of that dark gray, and make it mostly black.
