I intend to rip and burn CDs from my collection of LPs.
Is itunes suitable? How does this work? Do the files appear in itunes or elsewhere?
Do I need aftermarket software for filters, etc?
I have used Toast in the past on an earlier computer before itunes, but I would prefer not to update for $80 if avoidable.

This has been covered numerous times on the forums.

Try searching for "vinyl" or some such in this forum and over in the software forum, and perhaps in the Peripherals forum as well.

Details discussed in the threads escape me at the moment, I'm afraid, but I can tell you that iTunes itself cannot record.
