When you plug in the camera, along with opening iPhoto (if that's how you have it setup, if you go to your desktop, your camera should mount just like an external hard drive. Double click on the drive and the video clips are usually in one of the folders. You will probably need to copy the files off of the camera to play them.

my digital camera doesn't mount and never has.
its not a video camera, its just a regular digital camera, so should it still mount?

if so how?

That's strange. All still digital cameras that I have used (including canon) have always mounted without a problem. I guess some cameras may work differently.

If it doesn't already mount, I'm not quite sure what to do to make it mount.

Are you connecting directly with a USB cable or a card reader?

Canon cameras will Not usually mount on the desktop.

The way I do it is to open IMAGE CAPTURE which is located in the Applications folder. I Have placed it in my dock so when ever i need it I have easy access. Once you open the program you should know what to deo from there.

I also find it real easy to use to import photos that i don't want or need in iPhoto and can save easly to a different folder. ( saves creating another film roll in iPhoto for a single photo ).
if you can't be part of the solution don't be part of the problem!!!!

thirsty,

is there a way to import only a few selected photos in iPhoto? or does it take the entire contents of the camera?

also, whats the easiest way to delete a photo. i have to go into my photo library and search through thousands of photos to delete the one i want. i can't delete straight from the album.
