Stupid question of the week

I see that some of Apple's newer apps that a G4/733mhz is needed.

Is this a hard number? I've got a machine that has a G4/700 and was thinking that surely it wasn't, that it was just recommended (i.e. the app wouldn't check the actual speed).

Laugh away. I know I can overclock, but not a big fan of that.

Usually you can hack the file that contains the requirements. But yes, the application does actually check the specs of your machine when it runs.

Hrmmm...thanks for the response, I may have to OC just a tad then, or make sure hacks are available for whatever I end up buying.
