I have a miniDV camera and I want to import a tape onto my powerbook and then burn it to a dvd-r, possibly put 2 60min tapes together onto one dvd.

Is this very easy? What is the easiest way to do this? I have access final cut pro (my brother uses it for work) and I have imovie.

Well, from what I understand, if the miniDV cam has a FireWire port, hook it up to your Mac, open iMovie, click on the camera icon, and hit play on the camera.

Wait until the whole film is imported.

Then click on the --> iDVD icon at bottom right. This will open iDVD.

Click "Burn" icon.

Insert DVD-R into Superdrive.



(If you want, you can of course edit your films and set chapter points in iMovie. Go crazy. It's very very simple and fun. You can also use iDVD to build menus.)
