I'm trying to add a soundtrack with quicktime (to a video movie) but it keeps pasting it after the movie... you can add sound to a quicktime movie can't you?

Put the marker at the beginning of the movie and Add (Option+paste) the sound. Note that you should NEVER use 'add scaled' for sound, instead copy the video track and add it to the sound.
