Here's another way that I've found gives higher quality and more flexibility: http://home.comcast.net/~appleguru/dvdrip.html

Guys,

I have downloaded and installed DVDxDV... Since then I have a lot of problems and I need your help.

I have a PowerBook G4 12' Rev A.

First of all, there is a dvd inside the drive and it does not mount. I have restarted the computer many times. I have been to the help to find a way to eject the disc and nothing works. Now, even the help crashes when I launch it, so I do not have access to it. I have just put to the trash DCDxDV. When I try to launch DVD player, it says "There was an initializing error. A valid drive could not be found. [70012]" I have also launched System Profiler. It does not find the superdrive under ATA - Is it normal since nothing is mount"

Thank you for your help.

I think Handbrake is the simplest way. Just insert the DVD, click a button, wait a while, and it's done.

My dvd player works again.... I let the computer sleeps for 2 hours and it started to work again... Cool

I have just used handbrake to rip my dvd. The problem is that the file is too long and I cannot import it in iMovie. It says that I have to buy QuickTime Pro.

I do not want to buy it. Is there a freeware outthere that can cut a quicktime file into several in order to import them in iMovie.

Thanks.
