I'm creating a library of of online videos for our university by ripping DVDs directly to MP4 using Handbrake and then using Quicktime Pro to hint the files (the audio and video are set to just pass through). Both the initial rip and the streamable files play fine locally. But when I stream the files, they are fine at first but slowly get progressively more and more out of sync. After about 10-15 minutes it's extremely noticeable (more than 1 second off). It also may be worth noting that skipping to late in the movie also results in out of sync audio.
I'm using Darwin Streaming Server on Win2000 to stream the files for now, but eventually these files will be put on an XServe (still on backorder) and use QTSS to stream. Any chance that might fix things? I any ideas what I can do in the meantime?
Any advice is GREATLY appricated.
