Depends on what your price/range might be.

The Cheapest one that I would consider is the Canon GL2 Very good 3 Chip camera. Very durable and very good pictures. Find one for under $3000

The next cam is kinda the going rage in this line of Camera. That is the Panasonic DVX100a. Very good 3 Chip camera that comes with XLR audio inputs and is also advertised as HD. (it is HD but not by much). Great Cam for this type of application though. about $3500

The last would be from JVC. The GY-DV5000 is an excellent camera with great 3 chip head in it. Add on a Canon or Fujionon Broadcast Lens you have a camera that is fantastic for its price range. over $8000 with a high end lens

There are a few others in this category and they have there place but these 3 are the best most reliable for the buck.

Everything is dependent on what you want to spend. I wouldn't think of anything less than a $1000 would work for what you want to do. And one of the main reasons why is LOW Light (esp. in weddings) All three of these cameras are very good at handeling low light. Not that they will make it look like day light but you still get some definition and not all the grain of cameras that Electronically gain to compensate.

If you have any questions I am glad to help. I work for a Company that sells all three of these all the Time. I train the Clients on how to use them.

Thanks brianb! I really want to get a Panasonic DVX100A because it is so highly regarded and because it does 24 fps. However, I wasn't sure if I should invest in that one up front. I wanted to kinda work some deals with a cheaper camera first then bump up to the DVX100A.

And yeah, I was thinking about the GL-1 or GL-2 but didn't know if they would be up to snuff but I see you did mention the GL-2. I'm also debating if I should start out with one or 2 cameras.

Thanks for your reply and also thanks for your e-mail addy and your offer to help me farther.
