I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find it in past threads...
The only DVD Player I have at college is the one on my G4 iMac, but my TV screen is twice the size as that on my iMac. So I would like to be able to watch whatever DVD I am playing in my Mac to show up on the TV screen. How would I go about doing this? Thanks.

Doesn't the iMac have an S-Video out or something ?
On my Pismo, I just connect an S-Video out (and audio) to my TV, and that's basically all there is to it.

From www.apple.com/imac
Video
VGA output port for video mirroring on external display or projector (2)
S-video and composite video output to connect directly to a TV or projector (2)
Output resolutions: 640 by 480 pixels at 60Hz, 800 by 600 pixels at 75Hz, and 1024 by 768 pixels at 75Hz
If your iMac has a mini-VGA output, all you need is a TV adapter (which, if it's not included, is $19 at the Apple Store: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL...10.3.27.1.13.0 )

I looked at the Tech Specs of the iMac on apple.com and saw what Spheric Harlot was talking about. I do have the 'Video out' on my iMac, however, the requirements for the Apple Video Adaptor include having a 17-inch iMac with 1 GHz w/ a mini-VGA port.
Unfortunately, my iMac is a 15-inch 800 MHz, and I don't know if my 'Video out' is a mini-VGA port. Do you think what I want to do will still work if I buy the Apple Video Adaptor? ( http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL...nMore=M9109G/A)
Thanks.

This is one time where if you don't already have what you need it may be wiser to go and get a cheap DVD player. Going to Target, Wal Mart or any number of stores like them you can find a dvd player with Composite, S-Vid (Y/C), and component with Stereo audio and digital Coax audio out for under 40 dollars.
Granted they are not the worlds best dvd players. They lack decent menus, and have crappy remotes but if it is intended for a Dorm or Bedroom do you really need anymore out of a dvd player?
