Alright, so I have over 30 options as far as codecs go in QT pro. I use about three on a semi-regular basis and always wonder what the hell the rest are for.

Does anyone (who knows) want to explain the rest? OR maybe even better, point us to a resource of some kind that explains all the different QT codecs and their uses?

That would be phenomenal.

Why would you want to reduce QuickTime's ability to read files? Space isn't an issue as each component is usually only a few MB each.

I know there are websites that describe many of the codecs in detail, so try Googling for them.
