What DVD players work well with iTunes mp3 CD-R's?

I recently bought a Sony DVD player, and was pretty excited because it is supposed to be able to play mp3's. Unfortunately, for some reason it won't play mp3 CD's made with iTunes, which make up nearly all of the mp3 CD's I have.

Is this a widespread problem? And can anyone point to a DVD player that will play mp3 CD's made with iTunes?

Are they MP3 CDs, or AAC CDs? Are you using good media?

Most mp3 compatible DVD players are picky about disc format. I'm not familiar with how iTunes burns an mp3 disc, but I'm *guessing* it's just a Mac format data disc that can only be played back on your Mac. It needs to be ISO9660 or Joliet. Toast can do it - that's what I use.

My JVC DVD Player (XV-S200BK) plays the iTunes-burned CDs (in either Audio CD or MP3 format) fine. It does add a number to the front of the file name and I have found that it does seem to get confused a bit if I try to select the higher numbered mp3 files with the Player key pad. It also refused to include some mpeg audio tracks that I had not converted to mp3. They play ok in iTunes but they are rejected when it comes to burning to a CD. A genuine mp3 file begins with the characters ID3 and those identifying characters are missing if you just demux an mpeg and include the audio file in your playlist.

These are mp3, not AAC. I'm using TDK CD-R's, so it's a brand name, not generic. They work perfectly well for every other applicationI've used them for.
