It's been a few days and I still havent been able to figure it out...sorry if this is a stupid question, but if I mess around with my iDVD project too much, the whole thing gets messed up & I have to start over.
IIRC, the highlight color is dependent on the theme. What I used to do (with iDVD3) was pick a theme with a highlight color I wanted, then delete all the stuff and add my own--the highlight color remains.

Thanks! It sucks that I can't find a theme with purple font, but oh well. If anyone knows of one that I can download somewhere, that'd be superb.
