Hello all,

Can someone point me to some tutorials on how to put video and audio on a web site?

I have one customer who wants short video clips of her local tv show on her website. She has given me a DVD.
I have another customer that wants audio files of his meetings on his website.

Both cases have got me scratching my head.

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

no, sorry, no tutorial, but some basics:

many people do use Mircosoft systems , therefore they are "afraid" of seeing the Quicktime sign on a a website (yessss, you can download QT for Windowss for free, but…-)

so, we have .avi containers and .mov containers.

and we have dozends of compressors, motion jpeg, mpg1/2/4, wmv, sorenson…

I personally prefer the apple-pre-installed mpeg4, but …- s. above.

what actually is very "fancy": you can get FREE encoders/add ons for QT (and of course windows) using the divx or 3ivx codecs - these can be seen by both parties. the compressors works good (good pic quality & very good/small compression).

so, have a look for that in the web…-

Also, this freeware app writes the html for embedding QT movies for the web. The code it writes includes both the embed tag and object tag so that it will work with all versions of IE in Windows.
